their educational and professional pursuits that are not restricted
by their socioeconomic circumstances.
ABOUT YES APP
YES Appalachia strives to address educational inequalities for
students in rural schools within Watauga and Ashe Counties in
Western North Carolina. These students encounter multiple
obstacles that hinder their access to higher education: geographic
isolation, scarcity of academic support, limited educational
institutions, extensive distances and limited transportation options,
a digital divide, and cultural and language barriers.
