socioeconomic circumstances.
ABOUT YES LA
For over two decades, YES has worked to address the many challenges
that prevent high achieving low-income students in Los Angeles from
accessing academic, social, and career opportunities. Starting in middle
school and continuing beyond college graduation, YES’ long-term and
holistic approach provides the preparation Scholars need to overcome
the opportunity, achievement, and awareness gaps inherent to their
socioeconomic
circumstances.
Along
with
intensive
academic
preparation, YES provides the essential supplemental resources to ensure
that Scholars are competitive with their higher-income peers. 100% of YES
LA Scholars apply to rigorous independent high schools and 100%
graduate and matriculate to top colleges around the country. From
neighborhoods where fewer than 10% of adults have a degree, 96% of YES
LA Scholars persist and graduate from college.
