MODEL
Our three-phase program, which spans 11+ years, improves
educational outcomes for high-potential students from
underserved communities by supporting all aspects of their
needs and development while preparing them academically
and socially for success - starting in middle school and
continuing beyond college graduation.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
The YES Middle School Program is designed to equip students with the
necessary academic and social skills to navigate the high school
admissions process and transition to competitive high schools.
Middle school Scholars participate in weekly small-group
academic enrichment sessions designed to improve critical
thinking, literacy, and self-expression. They and their families
receive intensive high school admittance counseling, including
application and financial aid support to help them find and
enroll in the high school that best fits them.
Programming also includes robust summer enrichment
opportunities to build cultural capital and prevent academic
backslides during summer months, including experiential
outdoor education, residential summer camps, field trips, STEM
classes, and mentoring opportunities.
