SCHOLAR SPOTLIGHTS
Arty (Columbia Secondary School 825) was one of only ten
students selected for the Columbia University Student
Training in Astronomy Research Team. In this role, she will
use Python to develop theoretical simulations of
astrophysical phenomena.
Al Hadjj, a 7th grader at Columbia Secondary School,
was selected as a Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar! He
was one of only 55 students nationally chosen for this
highly selective program. He is the third YES Scholar
selected for this honor!
Thierno (Cal Tech 825), a Computer Science and Behavior
Economics major, recently completed his second summer at
Microsoft, where he was a Full-Stack Software Engineer intern
with Microsoft PowerAutomate. He worked on integrating a new
natural language model for 10+ million monthly CoPilot users.
Adelis (Brown 828) has started Brown University9s highly
competitive eight-year Program in Liberal Medical
Education (PLME), a combined baccalaureate and MD
medical program. She will matriculate to Brown9s Warren
Alpert Medical School once she completes her
undergraduate degree.
Beni (Beacon High School 825) was accepted into the Morgan
Stanley Finance Academy, a virtual career readiness program for
high school seniors, in which he will gain an understanding of
financial literacy and valuation concepts, prep for future
internships, pitch to a Morgan Stanley client, and be matched
with a Morgan Stanley mentor.
Elmer (Johns Hopkins 823) After graduating with a degree in
Environmental Engineering, he was the youngest applicant ever
accepted into Yale9s Center for Business and the Environment9s
Certificate of Financing and Deploying Clean Energy Program,
which trains and connects rising leaders to catalyze an equitable
transition to a clean economy.
