Young Eisner Scholars (YES Scholars) identifies high-potential students from lowincome communities in Los Angeles, New York City, and rural Appalachian North
Carolina and provides them with the long-term support, resources, and
educational access required for success through high school, college, and career.
ABOUT YES
Only 14% of students from the lowest-income households graduate from college.
Many factors contribute to this dismal statistic, but the most significant are the gaps
in opportunity, awareness, and achievement.
Dedicated to fulfilling the promise of Equal Opportunity For Equal Talent, YES
Scholars works to level the playing field and improve educational outcomes for
promising students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Starting in
middle school and continuing through high school, college, and into their
professional lives, Scholars receive the essential preparation and comprehensive
wraparound support to ensure they are competitive candidates for college
acceptance and graduation.
From neighborhoods where fewer than 10% of adults have a college
degree, every year 100% of YES Scholars graduate from high school and
are accepted to college. More significantly, YES Scholars have a 96%
college graduation rate.
